While, unlike, except for/that

· We use while to contrast full sentences: "While you spend a lot of money, I prefer to save for the future"

· We use unlike to contrast one full sentence: "Unlike you, I prefer to save money for the future"

· We use except in the following scenarios:

· 1) I'm like everyone else, except that I am taller

· 2) I'm like everyone else, except for my height

Everyday problems

Expressing your frustration about everyday-problems.

One thing that I hate is people who eat on the bus.

· One thing that annoys/bugs/bothers me is people who eat on the bus.

· It drives me crazy/mad when people litter (throw trash)

· It makes me crazy/mad/upset when...

· It gets on my nerves when...

Indirect Questions

Complex Indirect questions

Normal question -> Why does your friend complain so much?

Simple indirect question-> I would like to know why your friend complains so much

Complex indirect question-> Why your friend complains so much is something I can't understand

Use of WHETHER

We can use WHETHER instead of IF, for any indirect YES/NO questions, specially when we have options presented.

I'd like to know WHETHER you like salami or ham pizza.
